Corporate Events 2016

Allstar Sound started off the year with four corporate shows in Las Vegas, New Orleans and San Antonio  The Timming of the shows worked out perfect for us we were able to do the two shows in Las Vegas with a two day break between shows and then 4 day break to get the gear to to New Orleans and 3 day break to get the gear to San Antonio.   We loaded everything into a Semi and made the run. The shows included general sessions and entertainment, the entertainment was STYX, One Republic and Easton Corbin. the shows featured our new JBL VTX V-20, with Vs25 subs, Avid S6L 144 channel console, and Clear Com Helix-net Com and Free Speak 2 wireless com. we also supplied lights and video in conjunction with CYM Lighting and AVSU video. We got to work with a great group of people and they made 4 difficult shows go very smooth.

Allstar Sound adds another Avid S6L to inventory

Allstar Sound just added another Avid S6L to it’s inventory of rental equipment. we also updated out stage racks and now each rack has  64 inputs with 24 or 32 outputs. Now with all the Avid software updates this console has become a very powerful tool in the live mixing world.

The VENUE 5.3 software update for S6L brings significant new capabilities to our flagship system, including:

128 tracks of Pro Tools recording and playback over Ethernet AVB
Multiple user-definable fader layouts
Select follows Solo
Matrix Spill
Toggle EQ gain & frequency in Vertical Channel Strip Mode

Pro Tools 128 track recording/playback

With VENUE 5.3 the channel capacity over Ethernet AVB between S6L and Pro Tools increases to 128 channels (from 64 channels)—that’s 128 channels of simultaneous record and playback via an Ethernet AVB connection over a single CAT5e cable. Simply plug a supported Mac Pro with Pro Tools (and Live Sound Production Toolkit) into the Ethernet Pro Tools port on the back of the S6L control surface to enjoy 128 channels of recording and playback, including per-channel Virtual Soundcheck. Note that you will need to have two AVB-192 Ethernet AVB Option Cards installed in the E6L engine to support the increased bandwidth required on the network for 128 channels. Everything is pretty much plug and play. All of the VENUE patchbay functionality, the global virtual sound check functionality, the per-channel virtual sound check, the gain propagation workflows, transport control from S6L—all of that stuff that you got with 64 channels you’ve now got with 128. And this of course is really important because the I/O capacity of S6L is significant. This increased recording capacity covers all but the most demanding channel counts.

Custom Special events

Allstar Sound was invited to provide production for a special event in Seattle Washington. We were presented with a challenge to put a concert stage in the back yard of a private residence. The first obstacle was how we were going to get the stage into the back yard. The only access to the yard was a narrow staircase of about 25 stairs. Everything had to hand carried down to the yard. So we reached out to a local labor provider. Our client then requested we provide an unobstructed view of the lake and sky at night. We had a custom clear top made for the stage and since Seattle sees a lot of rain it needed to be a peaked roof. On the load in day we had our share of rain, over an inch , of a steady down pour all day. The next day, show day, the rain kept up until just before sound checks. We had clear skies the rest of the day and night, and it turned out to be a great performance by Kenny Loggins. Of course the next day, for load out ,the rain returned.

Over the past 30 years Allstar Sound has been called upon  to help with full production in places where most companies will not venture. From the beaches of Cabo san Lucas ,to tennis courts on the east coast,

So when it comes to putting 80’x40’x40′ stage in a parking lot or in a park we approach it with the same enthusiasm  we have for all of our events .
